Concordia’s Lutheran Service Book
Concordia Publishing House has put up a nice video overview of the new “Lutheran Service Book”. They have a brochure as well for those who wuld prefer print.
I’m excited to have a hymnal combining the best elements from TLH, LW, and HS98. Our chapel services use the orders selected for this hymnal.
A strong case is in made in the video for using the Pew Edition over printing full bulletins (even with their Service Builder electronic program.) This is a great thing to be hearing for continuity, consistency, and economics sake. (How much is your paper budget per year? Even a small congregation could buy 50 hymnals with the typical savings.)
It’s cheap enough for every household to use it for daily devotional life as well.
