The apocalypse is here!

We keep waiting for the signs of an apocalypse… Seven bowls of wrath, Seven angels with seven plagues, the fall of Babylon, and other asundry mayhem.

The first sign which John the Revelator left out in his Apocalypse has occured… this blog was listed in the April 24th edition of “Christian News.” I have donned my abstesos suit! I await fire and brimstone!

Have you ever had a nasty stain on your favorite white clothing which you couldn’t get out? The special rinse procedure, bleach, or mom’s secret method just doesn’t seem to do the trick. So you throw it into the laundry for another “pass” in hopes of a miracle. Sure enough, the garment is extracted… And the stain intact as well the article damaged from the overuse of bleach. All of your effort to restore this white garment to its original brilliance has failed.

Baptism -> Confirmation -> Holy Communion

I bring many apologies to the faithful readership. I used this past week to catch up with the family and sleep time. I have limited my posts as a consequence. Thankfully, I feel rested and rejuvenated for the final 5 weeks of the school year. 

One of the “hot” topics of the semester has been a discussion of infant and adult baptism practice in the Lutheran denomination. One of the “Theologia I: Baptism” instructors suggests our lengthy catechesis of adults as challenging; another sees no dilemma with a three year catechesis “as was the practice in the early church.” The professors put us students to the task of reconciling our practice with our theology.
